Emlyn Johnson likes listening to Leonard Cohen and Shellac. He is a bit like SMOG but from Fremantle. He likes the novel White Noise by Don Delillo and the song Tezeta by Ethiopian Jazzperson Mulatu Astatke. He remembers the heights of about ten Tasmanian mountains. He has been in four bands: Celestial Reform Committee (WA, 2011); Pretty Good Sex (Melbourne, 2013); Dutch Cream (Hobart, 2014); and Platypus Freaks (Hobart, current, as drummer). Between 2012 and 2014 he released five lo-fi albums, made from laptop recordings/phone recordings/live recordings/field recordings. They were: Armageddon Gomorrah Haemerrhoid (2012); Vengeful Sandgroper (2013); The King of Yesworm (2013); Jobbo (2013); and N Dol (2014). In 2015 he made Quendlandian.

Music Tasmania acknowledges Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the traditional owners of this island, lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to elders past and present and acknowledge traditional peoples' connection to country. We respect the traditions and customs of the Aboriginal people of lutruwita, who remain the custodians of these lands.
