D7 began in 2008 when Eleanor Webster and Nick Parish discovered they shared a love of Latin rhythms, unusual chord progressions and transcribing. What followed is a repertoire of intriguing songs from around the globe including tunes from lesser-known jazz artists such as Christine Hitt, Rigmor Gustafsson, Melody Gardot, Stacey Kent, Silje Nergaard, Nichaud Fitzgibbon, Lisa Ekdahl and homegrown composers Alwyn and Laurie Lewis. D7 played regularly around Hobart in 2008 and 2009. Following a break due to family commitments D7 returned at Hot August Jazz in 2014. They added bass and kit to their lineup in 2017. D7 has performed recently at the Timeless Way, Hot August Jazz and opened for Mona's 42-day Music Marathon in December. The band's current line up is Eleanor Webster (vocals), Derek Grice (horns), Joel Roberts (guitar), Ben Brinkhoff (bass) and Konrad Park (kit) .
