Dallas Heron’s music has come a long way from learning to sing and write with a Roland drum machine and four track recorder at Claremont College in the 1990’s. From being an ignorant rapper and screaming in metal bands to getting electric in the Hobart psych rock band Red Sun to posing new wave style for Melbourne punks The Funknecks. Dallas eventually settled on the freedom and mobility of playing solo in a minimal and driving fashion allowing him to build on the energy and momentum that’s so important to a live show. After winning the greencard lottery, Dallas headed to the US with the last four years based in New York City. Living in a cheap tiny room allowed him the space he needed to concentrate and create the sound he was after and also build an audience in a very competitive environment. Dallas has settled back in Hobart and currently booking shows.
