Frances Cameron is a Tasmanian pianist and composer. Classically trained, she attained her AMEB Associate Diploma of Music in Piano in 2006. She draws inspiration from many romantic and impressionist composers. Her aesthetic blends these styles with minimalistic elements. This interplay of restraint and emotion creates an introspective and captivating experience for listeners.

In 2021, she completed her Bachelor's of Music (Songwriting and Commercial Music Creation) at the University of Tasmania. This equipped her with the technical skills to record, mix and master her work. She began releasing her solo piano singles in 2022, receiving airplay on ABC Classic Drive, 2mbs, 3mbs, FBi, PBS, 4ZZZ and many community radio stations across the country.

Her debut album, "Piano for Dreaming," began its waterfall release in February 2024. She debuted the 12 track album with a live performance at MONA on International Piano Day (28.03.24).

In 2022 Frances scored Vivien Mason’s animation Handmade Happiness, which toured the state for GRIT. It was screened at festivals across the country and internationally. Most notably it won Best Documentary at the 2022 Los Angeles Animation Festival.

Frances was a recipient of Ensemble Offsprings’ Hatched Mentorship program in 2023, receiving mentorship from the esteemed pianist Benjamin Kopp.
Frances was commissioned by QVMAG to co-compose the soundtrack for Soma Lumia’s interactive Lacunae:Flow, which was installed in both the Royal Park and Inveresk galleries and is now part of the permanent collection.
