'Soda' is found naturally in alkaline lakes, in deposits where such lakes have dried, and from ash produced by burning various seaside plants. 'Lite' is a word-forming element meaning "stone," from French -lite, variant of -lithe, from Greek lithos "stone.” 

Soda Lite is one person making music devoted to the organic world. Each album evokes a mosaic of lifeworlds, blending field recordings, rippling keyboard layers, meandering daydreams and transforming ecologies into a polymorphous habitat of sound.

Soda Lite has released five albums since 2017, hosted by a range of US labels including Constellation Tatsu, Inner Islands, Not Not Fun Records and Aural Canyon.
