Spiral Kites are a five-piece pop/rock/indie/surf-inspired band based in Hobart, Tasmania. Their songs radiate snappy, warm melodies and rhythmic guitar jangles with hints of surf rock intertwined with Britpop-esque detours. They tread a distinctive path, their style channelling familiar influences from 60s and 70s pop/rock but with a modern twist. They simply write fun, fresh and honest songs which inspire people to get up and get their bodies moving to the rhythms and sounds that are uniquely Spiral Kites. Gigging in and around Tasmania with local acts they have also played with bands such as Mental As Anything and also have played at Festivals around Tasmania such as Falls and the Unconformity. Their debut album ‘The Wayback Machine’ is out now.
