Yulan & Blaise is the Australian-American duo of Yulan Jack 杰克玉兰 and Blaise Garza (Violent Femmes). Their sound blends experimental electronic music with obscure instruments unmoored from their traditional contexts. Yulan & Blaise’s upcoming 2025 debut EP invites you to enter cinematic worlds where their own romance is reimagined in extreme, yet strangely nostalgic, scenarios.

Yulan Jack, whose name is derived from her grandmother Mulan, is a Singaporean-Australian singer, actor and prolific interdisciplinary artist. She was one of 40-Under-40 Most Influential Asian-Australians in 2022 and recently featured in the Emmy-nominated comedy Deadloch.

Blaise Garza is a Mexican-American former child star turned acclaimed saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist. He has been touring with iconic folk punk band the Violent Femmes for two decades since he was 15. Blaise is best known for wielding a 6ft tall contrabass saxophone and has performed alongside artists including Barenaked Ladies, Colin Hay (Men at Work), and Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads), at iconic venues including The Hollywood Bowl, Sydney Opera House, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
