Earthphish was initiated in 2001 in Zurich, Switzerland, and is now based in Australia, Tasmania. Donovan John Szypura and Aleksandra Mirjana Crossan build a synergy that has not been limited to music, they produced award-winning contemporary dance pieces and independently released music since their formation of Earthphish. Earthphish’s music has been labelled as a Trip Hop but the band claims to be inspired by many music genres and cultural practices. In 2006 Earthphish fell into hibernation. Awakened in 2020, Earthphish opened a new chapter. The journey continues with a set of singles and a full album expected to be released in November 2020. Lee Scratch Perry, the grandmaster of Reggae and Dub will be featured on the song ‘Deadlock’.
