Forming in late 2012, Speech Patterns have made their presence in the Australian punk rock scene well known over the last year. With influences such as Lungs, Propagandhi and A Wilhelm Scream, Speech Patterns have produced a sound that is sure to leave you picking up your jaw by the end of an intense, melodic and excitable live show. Following their independently released self-titled 7” vinyl, produced by the infamous Nic White (Ride The Tiger) and mastered by Alan Douche (West Westside Studios), Speech Patterns have given listeners a record that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also one that demonstrates their passion for fast and technical punk. While listeners describe their music as progressive, thrashy and melodic, Speech Pattern’s non-traditional and aggressive song writing combined with a musically-diverse lineup (including members of New Wounds, Explosions, Sunday Something Ruined, and Cashman) has resulted in a sound that cannot truly be confined to any single genre. Playing shows relentlessly with local, national and international bands such as Luca Brasi, Ride The Tiger, Paper Arms, Anchors, Pour Habit and many more, the band’s tight live performances have landed Speech Patterns in a position that holds great opportunity for the future. Be on the look out.
