Published: 1 September 2022

An independent review examining the Australian contemporary music industry was released today, 1st of September, 2022. Systemic discrimination, sexual harassment, harm and bullying were prevalent in the Raising Their Voice report, which outlined 17 recommendations for change.

Alexandra Shehadie from MAPN Consulting lead the review, which included over 1,600 participants nationally.

“The task now is to follow through with implementing the recommendations right across
the industry. Australia has a vibrant, dynamic and creative music industry. It is important to
ensure that it is also inclusive, respectful and safe so that all who work in it are free from
harm and discrimination, and can thrive.”
