Heidi Barker is a 17-year-old singer/songwriter whose contemporary folk sound is shaped by a unique blend of heartfelt lyrics and versatile melodies. Her music explores themes of relationships, home, and personal growth, offering an authentic and mature perspective for such a young artist.

Heidi’s musical journey began with the trumpet before she taught herself to sing and play the ukulele. Growing up in a musical household with her father and twin brother both playing guitar, Heidi quickly picked up the instrument herself. Her first song, ‘Wait for Me’, remains one of her favorites and was the track that propelled her into the spotlight.

In 2023, Heidi gained recognition when she was named runner-up for Best Song at the Northern Territory Music School's Battle of the School Bands. Her song ‘Wait for Me’ was also selected to be the featured student composition at the 2024 NT Schools Performing Arts Showcase, the Beat Festival 'Home', and she performed on the Bamboo Bandstand at the 2024 Darwin Festival.

Heidi's debut EP, 'The First Rain', is a testament to her musical growth over the past two years. Recorded by Heidi in her bedroom using equipment won as a prize in the 2023 Battle of the School Bands, the EP captures a snapshot of her teenage years. She is now pursuing her love for creating original music in Hobart, Tasmania.

With influences from artists like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and Vance Joy, Heidi is sure to captivate listeners and solidify her place in the music scene for years to come.
